Gen 39: 2-6
* offend you feel like dragging your foot to work? feeling tired and feel like you don't want to work anymore?! Let's look at Joseph's life!
1. A right perspective!! (Gen 39:2-6)
- Joseph was working for the Lord all the time!!! despite the situation he is, he is always giving his best, not for the the sake of the work or men but God... as a result, God bless his work all the way!! he is the best servant! He is the best prisoner! and finally he is the best PM of Egypt!
2. A strong Principle (Gen 39:7-10)
- Joseph honour God and pleased God when he flee from temptation.
* if we please men, there will nv be no ending of pleasing and we will get tired out!! But not with God!!
The story of a donkey, an old men and a young boy!
One day the old men, taking a boy and his donkey went pass the 1st village, the people in the village saw them and said, "how stupid of the old men! he can just ride on the donkey and need not get so tired!" so after hearing this, the old men sat on the donkey and carry on with his journey. Then he came to the second village, the people there saw and said to him,"the poor young boy will be tired out from the journey, as an adult you should let him sit on the donkey instead!!" and so the old men got down from the donkey and put the boy on it and carry on.
Then they came to the third village, people saw the boy is on the donkey and said "Aiyo! how can this young boy not let the old men sit on the donkey?The boy is young and strong enough to walk by himself!!" and so the boy got down and the old men sat on it. When they got to the forth village, the villagers say to the old men "why not both of you sat on the donkey together?!" and so the old men and the boy sat together on the donkey...
However, when they walk past the fifth village, the people there were very angry with them!! "how can they be so cruel to the poor donkey!!" In the end, the poor old men and the boy ended up carrying the donkey instead!!!
I think you can guess the moral of the story right? haha...
3. A deep passion (Gen 39:21-23)
- having a deep passion is a driving force for us to do our very best for God!!
4. A Great Purpose! (Gen 45:4-7)
- ask our self! what is my purpose in my work place?? am I glorifying God??
* We can actually make our work more meaningful and purposeful! God want us to experience his blessing in our work today! are we letting him to do so?! ;)
Updates!!
Hmm... well from the period of Jan 08 till now now July... many many things has happen, if I were to summaries it, I went through a time of stormy session especially in the month of June...
A roller coaster ride of my life in work, studies as well as in church, so much so I become "chao ta" burn out... tired... in the midst of breaking down.... I even felt that my heart has harden towards God and has some how lost Him... it was scary... but yet in these midst, I was reminded by the Holy Spirit that God NV NV NV forsake me or even angry with me...
God spoke to me through a song sang by a Christian rock band, Pillar, title named "smiling down" I was touch by the
chores;"so next time when you feel like crying, next time when you don't feel like trying, just remember I will be right there, smiling down on you. In the morning when i don't feel like raising, next time I feel like compromising, just remember that I will always be right there smiling down on you.."
Wao... that's what I call unconditional and unfailing love men.... even if I dont feel like raising or trying or even compromise things... He nv fail to smile down on me and be RIGHT there!
I prayed and told God.. that's it!! I have enough of me so unstable in my spirtual walk with you that has compromise alot of things... I want to renew my first love for him, I want to seek him, I want to find him!! Alone, without any distraction, taking a break from my services and find Him.... Thus I have decided to take a break from my church for a month and seek him during this period as I visit Grace Assembly of God at Bukit Batok to search for Him once again alone.....
During this time I am also praying and seeking new direction and focuses thus maybe making some descision and changes if He lead me to it. I felt that I am running like a headless chicken, serving here and there not knowing his direction for me... I think is think to make things right and clear..
I wanna take this time to thank all my friends in church and workplace and others for prayers and encouragement... and also apologise if I have been affecting you guys in any area especially during my AWOL period in church... pls continue to keep me in prayer for God's direction, renewing and focus on his path for me... :)
