Title of the day = A Worker in the Harvest Fields...

Today is my 3rd day at work and I am thankful for what God had plan for me. I got to know a group of very nice, funny, friendly colleagues and also a fellow Sisters / Brothers in Christ! I want to thank God for Ms Woo, the centre manager of Care Corner Family Service Centre (Admiralty), for giving me a chance to take up this Job. I am also thankful for my direct supervisor, Wintson, a devoted child of God, whom had been guiding and helping me so far. Thank you guys!! =D

My Job will be supporting and assisting Wintson (Social Worker), dealing with youth programmes, particularly GP (Guidance Programme). GP is for those youths, 16 yrs and below, whom had committed Crime. It is like a "second" chances given to them by the police. The youths will have to go through a period of 6 months of GP which include, counselling for both parents and youths, involving in group work, community service, camps, outdoor activities etc. Upon completion of 6 month GP, if their performance is good and did not commit any crimes, they will only be given a warning by the police. In the future, I may be involve in other similiar youth out reach programmes which is under going the process of approval.

Knowing the nature of my Job, it reminds me of Matthew 9:37-38 "Then he (Jesus) say to the disciples, "The Harvest is pentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field!" The number of youths whom committed are increasing, and personally, I hv meet a few whom came with their parents for the GP Introduction... all I see in their face was "Lost" "without direction" just like a sheeps without a shephard... and mostly are Malays... I pray that God will have mercy upon them..

Interestingly, this few days have heard my colleagues or pastor sharing about real life story of those Malays Christians, how they come to know Jesus and how they are prosecuted by their familys and friends once they become a Christian. Valerie, one of my colleague whom is a counselor at my centre, share how she was lead by the holy spirit to pray for a muslim malay girl whom are hopping to meet up her real mother. A few weeks later, the girl send an email saying that the prayer had come true! She finally got to meet up her mother! Wao... isnt God amazing or what huh... I just pray that God will not only use me to help the youths, but also to lead them to Christ. Our Comforter and Counselor..

Heavenly Father, I give thanks for opening up opportiunity that allow me to help and serve those whom had fallen off the track along their way.. I pray that Lord you will be very real in my life.. so that I can show the youths, it is not by my strength and Love that I have help them, but is from you... your Love and Comfort... I pray that I will be more bold and courageous.. and also not feeling ashamed or shy to share the gospel with others... I pray for strength and wisdom from you.. and also a blessing to those youths that I am going to meet in the future, that I will be able to make a different in their lifes.. I pray and give thanks in Jesus Name.. Amen..

Title of the day : Closing of a Chapter... Begining of a new Jounrney

"Everything has a begining... has an end" sounds familiar? It is taken from the movie matrix. This coming Satuday will be my last day of work in Heartware Network and also mark the end of my Jounrney with Heartware Network for five years... I have decided to take a break from volunteering myself with Heartware unless need help urgently. Soon, a new Jounrney of my life will begin, I have been accepted to work in Care Corner (Admiralty) as a Social Work Assistant! (Millions of Praises to the Lord!) It have been a desire to serve and help the community specially those whom are less fortunate and also those whom had fallen off the track of life.

I thank God for opening up the opportunity for me to work in Care Corner. I was very surprise to be offered this Job. I send in my resume this year January to ask for a Job of admin but I didnt get a reply until June, when Ms Wong, the centre manager of Care Corner (Admiralty) call me up to ask if I am interested in the Job as a Social Work Assistant. Care Corner (Admiralty) deals with delinguent youths, youths whom had drop out from sch etc. I pray that Lord will grant me wisdom and love to help them, and influent the love from God to them.

Five years have passed... It is through Heartware that I got to meet my first Mentor (spiritual Parents) Raymond and Sharon. If it is not for their guidance and encouragment, specially interms of my spiritual walk with God, I cannot imgain what will I be now... I thank God for this wonderful mentors I have whom are always there for me when I am discourage or in trouble. I never forget the day when walk into Church heavy hearted and was crying to God, there they are, standing beside me, praying for me....

"Raymond/Sharon, thank you so much, both of you are a gift from God for me.. if is not for your encouragment to attend church.. I wont be able to settle down in YMM and also in 62th BB Coy, thank you so much for begin there, when I am down and discourage. Thank you for your guidance and love. In my heart, both of you are my second parent to me, I am sorry that I have let you down and disappoint you at times... I am really sorry... please forgive me... =( I am proud you have both of you as my mentor! I will nv forget the days that we laugh, joke and the fellowship that we had... Thank you! =D"

Heavenly Father, I give thanks for the past 5 years of jounrney I had with Heartware. I give thanks for the opportunity to meet Raymond and Sharon. I believe you bring both of them into my life so that you will use them to help me grow strong and walk close with you. If is not your unfailing love for me, I might have fallen off the track, I wont be whom I am today. Father... I pray that you will continue to blessed Raymond and Sharon as they have been a faithful servent and child for yours and they done a great job, making a different in my life. I pray that they will contiune to shine for you and give you glory. As new chapter in my life begin to start, I pray that Lord you will continue to mould me and use me so that I can make a different in other people's lifes.. I pray that I will be like Raymond and Sharon, able to influnene your great love to others. I pray all this and give thanks in Jesus Name.. Amen

Title of the Day : Over comfortable Singapore?

Is Singapore too comfortable to be true? Has Singapore becoming so safe and prosperity that Singaporean are getting more and more self-fish? that they only concern about themselves? Heartless towards those people that are suffering overseas? or even our own fellow country men? Have our youths got over concern about themselves? concern about what they will wear? what food to eat? places to go? what are the best shopping mall to shop etc etc..

Luke 12:29 - 31 " And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom and these things will be given to you as well."

The amount of time and money spend among the youths for one youth, could help one entire country of needy and those whom are struggling to even survive a single day...

Heaven Father, I give thanks for blessing us with such a wonderful country where there is no wars, riots, social disturbance... Father I give thanks for grace and love for us throughout this forty years... I give thanks to the easy acces to food, clean water, clothings, shelters, what ever we need.. you have provided for us... Oh Lord, forgive us, forgive all of us the youths in Singapore that we have been too comfort with what we have.. we even grumble and complain somtimes.. We are just like the Israelis whom had experiences your love and grace and seen your wonders, but YET! they still complain and grumble! Oh Lord, forgive us... forgive our ignorances..

Father, I pray that you will raise up an army of youths and prepare them to have a "holy war"! A war which is not against flesh and blood but against poverty and suffering of those people all around the world especially the third world countries.. I pray that Lord this Army of "Youth Crusaders" will lift up your banner high and make a different in the lives of those whom are suffering... I pray that Father, you will put this heavy burden upon the hearts of young men and women including myself... those whom have a heart to serve you, a heart for those whom are suffering... I pray that when the time is right, all those whom you have call on to... will ans the call.. the call for salvation. Lord, I pray for this burning passion.. in Jesus Name.. Amen..
